Malifaux – Gentlemen’s Game

Malifaux is sticking in my head for quite some time now (along with few other games, obviously). While most of my hobby life turns around Games Workshop products, I assumed, it’s nice to diversify and get in few skirmish games as well. Malifaux seemed to me as one of most natural choices – it expands rapidly in Warsaw and generally in Poland. Many veteran gamers gave up their hope on ‘good old’ Games Workshop and picked up Malifaux. …and I’ve been watching Malifaux for over a year now, started collecting around June 2015, painted first Master with the crew (Lilith) in September 2015 and finally had my first, introduction game also in September 2015. Later, I had a break due of my journey across the Asia. And actually I was pretty close to play Malifaux while visiting Jakarta in December 2015, but it was rather busy time for me so whole idea for it failed… …but on the plus side I managed to paint Pandora and her crew, and now I have two Neverborn Masters …

Welcome to The Old World – Warhammer Fantasy Tournament

As general rule I don’t participate in tournaments. I am littleĀ  bit fed up of the idea of winning the game at any cost. The same army list as cheesy as possible, everything must work out like in the most precise clock. I had to win no matter what. ‘Victory is life’ as Jem’Hadar used to say. Yeah, it was pretty important. I stopped to take part in tournaments, around 6th editions of WHFB, as I got little bit bored with playing the same armies, same models, using same list all over again. Thanks, but no thanks. Not any more. I took a break. I needed quite few year to change my approach to any of miniatures games. I realised that victory is not the most important factor (sorry, Jam’hadar…). Having fun is. And by having fun I mean, painting my entire army, telling the story and playing different army lists with wide diversification of models. And, believe me I never been so happy with the hobby as I am now. I paint my minis, …

Game of Travel – Australian and Asian Chapter. Summary

The time has come. Next week – 15th March – I’m going back home. It was great five months, during I’ve travelled many countries, I’ve met many people and played many games, but like all good things, the travel has to end at some point. The original plan has changed a little – the idea was to end the journey in May 2016, but due to some unexpected social/family/work issues (nothing to worry about though!) we were forced to shorten our stay in Asia. So, two months before scheduled departure, I’m going back to Poland. Another chapter on my blog is ending. Time to proceed. But before I move on, I’d like to summarise my far east journey. My Journey in Numbers 5 months I left Warsaw 21st of October 2015. Flight via Doha and Singapore to Brisbane, Australia. I’m going back to Warsaw 15th march 3016. That makes almost full five months of travelling, painting miniatures and meeting gamers somewhere out there. 6 countries During that time I’ve been in six countries. I’ve started …

Wargaming in Phillipines.

I’ve been travelling for some time now. Australia, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia and at very end – Philippines. That was cool run, that slowly comes to conclusion. My last month, here in Asia I’ll spend in Koh Chang, Thailand, trying to bring together work, leisure and hobby of course… To be frank, I’m quite exited how my last weeks going to look like. Nice guest house to stay, well known area, everything so organised – just perfectly suited for my needs. Perfect ending of my few months travelling adventure. Slowly, I’m preparing myself to write finial chapter of Asian Game of Travel, summarising all that happened to me in past few months… but first I’d like to give you insight of what and who I’ve encountered in Philippines last weekend. I had great time in Philippines. First two week of relaxation on two islands – Panglao and Bohol, and then weekend in big city – Manila. Manila, as capital of Philippines is also the place where there’s the largest wargaming community. Stores, clubs, gamers – …
