Personal projects tab

For the last couple of years I was working on a few personal projects of mine. And some of them are at certain stages of completion. So, instead to write several posts with the pictures and full description – I decided to set up separate tabs on the header menu. Each tab will lead you to the site about one of my projects. Pictures and background story. It’s going to be all there. Gathered in one place and easier to find. For starters – My Warhammer Fantasy Altdorf army. Here’s the link. Of course , it’s an on going thing. There are so many miniatures in my storage still waiting to be painted and I plan to do so. Next in line to cover are: Imperial Fists for Warhammer 40000 and Chaos for Warhammer Fantasy. I’ll inform you about any updates in separate posts. Cheers!

For Altdorf. A little update for Empire army.

Oh, that was a long time since I  presented my recent painting efforts here. And it’s not that I didn’t want to, but seriously, September and October was a crazy busy time for me. First, I had a ton of work in my day job. Second, I moved back to Poland (by a car. God bless my good ol’ Nissan Micra. Oh, yes. It’s manageable. But don’t ask how:). Third, there was a pile of miniatures I was painting on commission. And finally, fourth – I need to write a crazy amount of content for Polish Oldhammer Weekend. It took me ages, to arrange all scenarios, rules and background. However, it was all worth it. The review – coming soon. …but, no matter what, I did found a spare time to paint something extra for one of my personal projects. At the moment, my Warhammer Fantasy Empire Altdorf Army is still number one. There are a few models I need to paint, and few corrections I need to make to some already finished. But I’m …

For Altdorf. The Empire project update. Part 2

I work like crazy. I paint like a madman! I do this and that – no time to relax. Too many miniatures to paint! Go! Go! Go! Today I go back to my current primary personal project. Oldhammer Empire Altdorf army. I build it to fit WHFB 4th edition army book – so according to the timeline and definition is more like Middlehammer, but who cares. The composition of the army will fit any edition and any game system. From 3rd to 8th, plus Age of Sigmar/ unlikely;)/. I want to be open with the idea. In last Altdorf Project Update Post I presented to you Karl Franz, The Emperor himself, plus his most faithful state troops. It was March and the goal back then was to prepare the miniatures for upcoming BOYL Oldhammer Weekend in July 2017. Well, long story short – I made it (with almost everything. In my last regiment of Knights Panther, the highlights are at the beginning stage. I’ll finish this soon) and I was able to field the army …

For Altdorf. The Empire project update. Part 1

As stated in previous entry, at the moment I’m in the middle of prepering a new Warhammer Fantasy army. It’s The Empire Altdorf based on the 4th edition Army book (most awesome of times for Empire models in my opinion). So, expect The Empire posts from time to time. There will be a few updates in following months. The army need to be ready for BOYL 2017 Oldhammer Weekend in July, and there are plenty of miniatures to paint. And since I’m on a break from my travelling life, settled down in a small town near Barcelona (at least for a year), I have lot of free time to spend on my hobby. There is no better year than this to start a new army. In last post, I presented my first regiment. Core unit of every Empire province – The Halberdiers. And now it’s the time to add a few bosses to lead those folks to victory. Today’s guests are: Karl Franz That’s right. The man himself. The beloved Emperor. There is no better …

Glory to The Empire!

This post is the first one of many about my next big thing on Warhammer Fantasy Battle. I’m going in deep and hard into The Empire army. Oh, gosh. I’m little bit overwhelmed with my ideas and plans for next few months. I was playing Skaven by far, and I remember how much time it took me to paint all the models for the army. I was exhausted and bored at the same time. Too many miniatures of the same type – it can be tiresome. So why I’m putting myself into this by starting to collect another Warhammer Fantasy army? A  few reasons First. I love Warhammer Fantasy. Models and Old World setting. With coming of Age of Sigmar, when initial disappointment went off, I realised that Games Workshop in fact made me a huge favour. Now, I was assured, there’s no new rules nor models will be released and Warhammer Fantasy is the closed chapter. I could finally concentrate on my favourite armies and miniatures, and not to be worried, that new army …

The Game of Dragon

Finally! At last! It’s over! It’s done! After many, many painting hours, I’ve managed to paint Carmine Dragon from Forge World. Oh, gosh! That was a challenge, I tell you! It took me almost forever to paint it. I started in end of May 2016 and sit for many hours to achieve the level I would be satisfied with. The idea of planting this model was planted in my head in May and slowly growing to eventually turned out with decision – OK. Let’s do this! I wanted to visit Festival of Miniature Painting and Sculpture in Toruń, Poland (last weekend of June), and I thought this dragon will be just right to paint and present at the festival. This would be perfect excuse to go there  I was thinking back then – I got 6 weeks to the festival, so it’s plenty of time to paint it at top notch level. Oh, how wrong I was! 6 weeks may seem like the time I could paint whatever I want, but like always I forgot …

Painting Fever. Part 3

Hello there! I’m back with another batch of freshly painted minis. I haven’t got much time recently to paint, but during last 10 days I haven’t been entirely unproductive.  Oh, quite opposite – I resisted temptation of launching Warhammer: Total War and I dedicated all my free time to miniatures.  And that was crucial moment, believe me. New TW has any indications to be time vortex for me. I see myself getting into world of video games, and be lost, like, forever. And beside miniatures, I have family too! So, at least for now, thanks but no thanks. I say no to Total War. I stick to metal and plastic  (and resin:). It is enough fun:). What you see here is work I’ve done during last two weeks. Like I wrote, busy time right now – miniature painting has little bit lower priority at the moment. Despite that, I have this trio. Lady Ellendeane of Wolsung, Beastmen Shaman and Empire Catian for WHFB. That was the least I was able to paint recently. …but one …

Summary of Painting Fever

For the last week (more like two weeks I think) I was painting like crazy. I was painting  during every spare moment I had. Waking up early in the morning, going to sleep late night. Well, from time to time I catch this painting fever and I can’t stop. …and to be honest, I feel good with that. Almost no time for any other leisure activities, just regular work, family life and paint, paint, paint… That’s life, I tell you that. If I could repeat that cycle all over again for longer period of time, I’d not complain at all. Painting with small dose of gaming activity took over my life by storm. And I’m glad – after one year of intensive work on wide and various ranges of miniatures, I can easily say – I can’t imagine any miniature, I wouldn’t like to paint. There are always some small things in every model I see I would like to work on. And I don’t think there’s something that would discourage me to do so. …

Bright flame on the wind

Small break on the blog. Sorry for that. The last week was crazy busy for me. I was prepering for two events. First, good old Herohammer battle against Dwarfs and second, small tournament of WHFB 8th edition. My Skaven needed some few tweaks – bases, banners, or just simple corrections of my old painting job… …not to mentioning – whole regiment of Plague Monks were simply unpainted. Yeah, busy week… but it all turned out perfectly – I  lost all battles, but my minis did well. All painted and willing to die… sorry, fight. Reports will come to Game of Travel soon. Now, everything relaxed a little. No hurry, no deadlines, no need to paint Skaven anymore (at least for now). I can paint whatever I want. I have few ideas, but first… the model I painted right before Skaven rush. Warhammer Fantasy Bright Wizard. Part of two miniatures blister I bought some time ago. First wizard – from Amethyst Collage, you can see here. And the second – Bright Collage of Magic, painted about …

Amethyst Wizard aka I’m home again!

Oh, my! I’m home again! Whatever that means, of course:) During past five years I was changing countries and cities so many times, that now It’s hard for me to find the most desirable place to live. However, Poland is the country where my friends and family live, where’s absolutely the best food in the world (Polish donuts rocks!) and if I like it or not – I pay taxes. So, let’s face it – Poland is my home, even though – I’m here for less than 6 months during the year. I arrived one week ago, and I had plenty of things over my head. Arranging new flat, getting all my stuff from my mother’s attic, getting internet connection. And one week later – here I am. Rested, willing and happy to paint and write! The break made me even more enthusiastic about all this hobby deal. So, let’s rock n roll! All is set up and ready for action. I already unpacked all miniatures I had with me in Asia. Ow, wow. There …
