Game of Travel in Tokyo, Japan

Slowly, step by step, I’m getting rid of fthe pile of stories I should have written ages ago. Apparently, this short stay in Jamaica works ideal for me and it gave the writing boost I needed. Yaeh, mon! Just a few to go and I’m clear – ready to explore further and start new ideas, reports and reviews. Couple of days ago, I wrote about my visit in Barcelona’s Goblin Trader Store and today I finished writing about my short stay in Tokyo. My whole trip to Japan lasted all together 12 days. I’ve been to Kurashiki, Kyoto, Nara, Sendai, Ishinomaki and finally for the last three days – Tokyo. And in Tokyo I was hoping to find the store to drop in, take a look around and buy a souvenir from Japan. Unfortunately, to find a proper store became an uneasy task. Google helped me only with official Games Workshop store, plus one more, somewhere far, far away in the suburbs. And, three days in Tokyo, so I didn’t have the desire to spend …

Goblin Trader Hobby Store – the place to be in Barcelona

Have I mentioned it already? Probably few times in many different occasions, but if not, I’m doing it now (again) – next week I move to Barcelona! I’m super excited about this. Barcelona is in my top 5 places to live. Warsaw still remains number one, but I feel (or rather we – me and my wife), the shift would be good for us. It’s not going to be permanent, but at least two years will be nice time to have it there. Of course, it means our life will change a bit – the blog will become little bit less about travelling, but well it’s going to be still about games. And that’s what matters the most. Anyway… new place means entirely new setting and new gaming community. It’s going to be hard to fit in 100% like in Poland. After all I will be newbee, with only communicative Spanish. And believe me Spanish (or Catalan) is necessary in Catalunya. The people out there are not so good in English. Not at all. So, …

Wargaming in Phillipines.

I’ve been travelling for some time now. Australia, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia and at very end – Philippines. That was cool run, that slowly comes to conclusion. My last month, here in Asia I’ll spend in Koh Chang, Thailand, trying to bring together work, leisure and hobby of course… To be frank, I’m quite exited how my last weeks going to look like. Nice guest house to stay, well known area, everything so organised – just perfectly suited for my needs. Perfect ending of my few months travelling adventure. Slowly, I’m preparing myself to write finial chapter of Asian Game of Travel, summarising all that happened to me in past few months… but first I’d like to give you insight of what and who I’ve encountered in Philippines last weekend. I had great time in Philippines. First two week of relaxation on two islands – Panglao and Bohol, and then weekend in big city – Manila. Manila, as capital of Philippines is also the place where there’s the largest wargaming community. Stores, clubs, gamers – …

The travel continues – Red Comet Store – Penang, Malaysia

The travel goes on. I had some break from writing here anything connected with travel. Recently write only about my progress in painting. Actually, I paint like crazy in last two weeks. I had pretty good run and I did not want to interfere with it. However, I still have one more place to write about. So, I get myself off from the paints and brushes for a moment and I’m going back to the place I’ve visited few weeks ago. I have in mind one particular and special place for me. Georgetown, Penang Island in Malaysia. Few years ago I’ve stayed in Georgetown for over a month and I absolutely fell in love in that city. To be completely frank, I’m not sure what has happened – I just love the place. Period. Mixture of post-colonial and Asian households. Topitty top cuisine. And amazing people. Chinese, Malay, Indian and Europeans. Absolutely unique. This time I’ve stayed in Georgetown only for 10 days, which had to be enough to overcome my nostalgia. Well, I know …

Wira Games & Hobbies in Kuala Lumpur

It has been some time since I posted any travel related article here. It’s my last day here in Thailand, after glorious two weeks in Koh Lanta. I still have some stories to tell from Malaysia and now I want (and need!) catch up with all overdue posts. After Indonesia, I’ve stopped for few days in Kuala Lumpur. I’ve met my good old friends. I’ve drunk my beloved teh tarik and ate tons of tanroori chicken with naan (de-li-cious!) …and I also have taken the trip to Petaling Jaya District to vist Wira Games and Hobbies Store. Petaling Jaya district is easy to get. An it’s not far away from KL Sentral train station. It’sĀ  about 20 minutes by commuter train. So, the trip from my hotel should be around 30-40 minutes. Should…because thanks to very friendly and helpful taxi driver I was there in 10 minutes for about 20 RM (about 5USD :). Since, the store was open from 12 PM, and I was little bit earlier – I drank one more teh tarik …

Fantasy ‘N Games – your place in Jakarta

Wow! Time, indeed is passing by so fast! Less than two weeks ago I was in Jakarta celebrating New Year’s Eve. Then – Kuala Lumpur for few Days and Penang, Malaysia and finally today it’s my last day here. I’ve realised, I haven’t done much for this blog and for my hobby in general during past two weeks. I’ve been in so many cool places. I’ve met so many nice gamers in Indonesia and Malaysia so I should have written few posts by now. But I haven’t. And also I’m kind of stuck in the progress on Blood Angles, currently I’m working on… What the hell, just happened? Of course, I have my excuses, but it’s a weak man’s thing. I should have pulled myself together and go back to work. After all, painting and wargaming is so much fun:). Luckly, I’ve done all of my ‘day job’ urgent fork and I can spend more time for more pleasant activities. No more excuses. Back to work! First. I have to finish Blood AngelsĀ  this week …

Game of Travel in Thailand – Battlefield Bangkok Store

My time on Koh Chang has come to the end. It was great 17 days. Little bit of work, but also I’ve found the time for relax – sun bathing, swimming in the sea or simply walking around…plus painting miniatures of course:). Mostly Blood Angels – I need 15 of them to be painted (almost finished, but still few hours to complete…). After Koh Chang I moved to Bangkok for few days. In Bangkok i Had spelendid weekend as well. I’ve eaten some long missed western food (pizza!), watched new Star Wars movie (pew, pew, pew), paint more Space Marines and most of all I’ve visited great wargaming store – Battlefield Bangkok. I’ve been in Bangkok few times before (6 or 7 I suppose), but I’ve been to Battlefield Bangkok only once. It was two years ago – I haven’t even dreamt about running a blog about my travel or playing battles abroad. That was my second time in Asia and I’ve brought with me only 5-6 models to paint. I remember I bought back …
