Painting Fever. August-October 2017

Recent months were crazy busy for me. No matter what though – there was always free time to sit down by my desk and paint a model or two. Here’s the summary of my works from last three months. Glart Smashrip O.M.G. This fat rat is probably one of the most awesome miniatures ever released. The wickedness of this model is epic. And I’m telling you this as a big time Skaven fan. No objectivity here -just pure blind affection! Glart is fat. Glart is too fat, in fact. How’s he playing Blood Bowl is a mystery for me. He definitely has the strength, but very little speed and stamina;). The model itself represents, in my opinion, how the higher class of Skaven society could look like. I can see  fat Grey Seer or Warlock Engineer of Clan Skryre. Eating warpstone all day – everyrat would gain a few kilos on a diet like that, right? Too bad GW hasn’t released anything like that. Thankfully there’s Glart. I got him during the visit in Warhammer …

The slump is over. Part 2. Malifaux commission

Like I promised, I’m going to publish some more stuff here. First things first, there’s going to be series of entries, maybe with not so engaging content, but definitely eye-catching. Or simply, less text, more pictures. The thing is, for the last couple of months I was painting a lot, but there was no proof of that on the blog. Now, while I’m back to ‘serious’ blogging, time to get back to those past painting jobs and present them here. I know, I’ve put a tons of pictures on various social media already, but a blog is something more permanent. Once I post it here, I have it documented for good. Social media stuff disappear so quickly. So, without further ado – today’s miniatures: Malifaux Ten Thunders faction bunch This was a big commission work I was working on for three weeks in July 2017. All together 22 miniatures. And what’s cool about this work – there was no moment of doubt and no feel of boredom. The variety of models here was wide. From …

Fulgrim. The Primarch of Emperor’s Children

Let me present Fulgrim, The Primarch of Emperor’s Children, The Third Legion of Space Marines. Horus Heresy is a big, big thing. Something that I wanted to go into for a very long time. It’s stuck in my head and I can’t get rid of it. The questions were – how to do it, how much money invest and what’s more important – what’s exactly to start to collect… This was a huge brain teaser for me. Believe me. For a last couple of years I listen to Horus Heresy audio books whenever there was an opportunity. During paint sessions, travelling, jogging. Really, whenever there a gap, I grab my mobile and set of phones and get into  it. And I must say, it’s awesome! Really great stuff to listen to. So intensive fluffwise and, I’m must confess  – it’s amazing marketing tool. I mean – after each book, Forge World’s page was opened to look for some miniatures connected to the Legion I was listening about. It was only a matter of time which …

The slump is over. Part 1 (Recent paint jobs)

Well, it’s not what I excepted. The break, I mean. What the fudge?! I was over occupied with tons of other things, and all of the sudden – I find this huge gap on my blog. No updates for ages. Recently, I finally added the entry to the blog (after a few months of break), and right now I need to catch up with  writing and showing of my painting jobs. So, let’s sum things up for a start. Still living in Spain, in small town of Canet de Mar, about 30 km north of Barcelona. For now, me and my wife decided to give up on travelling for some time and focus more on work. And the settled life is opportunity for me to paint even more, to train my painting skills and finally to get some extra cash of painting commissions… …worry not. Soon, I’ll be on the road again (January 2018 if nothing unexpected will occur), and until then I’ll paint like crazy and try to be better painter. And believe me, …

Chaos Dwarfs Daemonsmiths

December was really busy for me. First time since 2012 in Europe, and it meant tone of work for me. And in the hobby? Obviously, quite opposite. Barely no time for painting or gaming. The slump. And I hate those. Despite the obstacles I managed to work a bit. These three Chaos Dwarfs Sorcerers from Forge World are the only result of my December brush struggle. It’s better this than nothing, right? And that was close… (due to the overwork). I grabbed those three on one of the internet auctions site as a bulk deal of big batch of Forge World’s Chaos Dwarfs – including ordinary Chaos Dwarfs Warriors (Infernal Guard), Bull Centaurs and Bull Taurus. They were kept closed in the box for over the year, and I decided I should give them some love finally. These three Daemonsmiths were kind of training ground for me. I’m determined to gave up on washes. And if it’s not absolutely necessary, do not use them. Paint only. While I was painting those guys, I used few …

December Painting Fever

Another batch of miniatures for sale ready. As usual in my summaries – I’m posting pictures and little ‘about’ text of three models I’ve painted recently. The first is… Adeptus Mechanicus Tech-Priest Dominus When Adeptus Mechanicus and Skitarii Codexes Wwarhammer 40000) were released I was super excited. Plus those awesome models! I was all into it, having uncontrolled urge to collect another army. Well, thankfully for my budget I got back to my senses, and I gave up on the idea. But a few months ago I had finished ‘Mechanicum’  book from Horus Heresy series and I got Mars fever all over again. This time I was pretty sure, there’s is not even slight chance to go for Mechanicum (too many projects on my head at the moment), but the model of Tech-Priest Dominus was obligatory to paint. There was no doubt about it. The model is simply awesome and it was pure pleasure to paint it. The complexity of this plastic sculpt is amazing. Games Workshop delivered a true piece of art. And only …

The Last Summer Painting Fever

OK. Carmine Dragon is finished and in about three days I’m going to Japan for almost two weeks. So, without any doubt – this is my last painting session before the trip. The small tradition is that in my regular Painting Fever post I have three miniatures to present. So, today I also have only two. I didn’t make to paint three before Japan… Starting from my first Age of Sigmar model… Orruk Weirdnob Shaman I prepared this model for one of the Warsaw’s hobby store painting competition. The deal was that you have to come to the store, buy any model you like and paint it. As I was after Orruk Weirdnob Shaman for quite a some time now, I entered the contest, simply to grab the opportunity to get this green guy. Well, if you follow my blog, and read my posts from time to time, you probably know my attitude to Age of Sigmar. Long story short –  I don’t get Rage of Sigmar, when I see or hear about it, but …
