Battle Report: Warhammer 40k – Blood Angels vs Dark Angels (1500 points)

It’s been some time since the last battle report I wrote and I must say, I really missed that:). The next battle – Warhammer 40000 Blood Angels vs Jan’s Dark Angles 1500 points was part of our local narrative campaign – Fading Suns of Corinth Sector. First of the series of 6 to 8 battles. The story so far: Ancient race of Necrons set up their mysterious machinery that require massive amounts of power. Star after star was drained of the energy to fuel up the device. Mystery of fading  suns of Corinth caught attention of wise men from all over Empire. Several Space Marines chapters were sent to investigate. Greenskins followed them, hoping for  good fight…and Chaos… they have their own secret agenda there… Scenario My Blood Angels faced Dark Angels in the first turn of the campaign. 1500 points. Battle Forged Armies. Blood Angels defend in this battle. 50% of the army set up normally in the deployment zone. Second half is in the reserves and enter form the second turn with usual …

Fading Suns of Corinth Warhammer 40000 campaign. Turn 1

Few weeks ago, I joined to a group of friends to play Warhammer 40000 narrative campaign. Fading Suns of Corinth sector is the story of mysterious Necron activity and the clash of few armies attracted by the riddle of Corinth. Soon the campaign is about to start. The first battle is already scheduled for April 10th. So, it’s time to start the preparations. The scenario The story is at very start. Eight armies came to the sector to check Necron plot. My Blood Angels were forced to deal with Dark Angles. 1500 points. Blood Angels are trying to set up a base site on one of the planets. Unfortunately for both sides, Dark Angels chose the very same site, but arrived a moment later. Attack was commenced, and the battle was on. Blood Angels defend their base. 50% of the army set up normally in the deployment zone. Second half is in the reserves and enter form the second turn with usual reserves rules. Dark Angels do not deploy in normal fashion, but all …

Wh40k Narrative Campaign – Fading Suns of Corinth Sector

March 15th. Less than 3 weeks and I’m going back home. I had awesome time in Australia ans South-East Asia, but like all good things, it has to end eventually. So, last two weeks in Thailand and off I go to Warsaw. Warsaw in March. Grey, rainy, gloomy and cold place. Oh, I’ll have plenty of reasons to complain about:). However… …in Poland I’ll have so many options to play and shops where I can buy miniatures and painting stuff. After few months of travelling, settled way of life will be a blessing for my hobby. And first order of the day has already been scheduled:). I’ve applied with my Blood Angels army to Warhammer 40000 narrative campaign organized by my friend Jan in Warsaw. Campaign starts next week but I was able to persuade the boss to count me in and play me turn a little bit later. This post is first of the series about “Fading Suns of Sector Corinth” campaign. The campaign will last for next few months and envisage at least …

Hail to Blood Angels!

Few days ago I’ve managed to finish Terminators Squad for my growing Blood Angels army. It took me some time to finish those, but it was quite satisfying work. Terminators are super cool models  and it was really fun to put colours on them. Probably, the whole Terminators project did not occupy me for so much time, If I won’t work simultaneously on other Blood Angels. Tactical Squad. All together – all 15 miniatures – took me almost a month to paint them all. After all this time – they are finally done. It was the matter of perseverance, I guess. I painted few hours a day (if that was possible of course). I used every spare moment, all my free time to paint these minis.  And here they are. Of course, I could have concentrated even more. One month for even 15 models is way too long. The next batch of Space Marines (definitely not in near future), I hope will not be that time consuming. If I could short it to two weeks …

Blood Angels Terminators (Finally!)

Edit (24.02.2016): I updated photos in this post. Old ones had too much blue in the background and it was distorting whole colour scheme of miniatures. New ones are better imho. The Day has come. After almost a month, I’ve finally finished painting Blood Angels. Terminators Squad – they were first (simultaneously I worked on Tactical Squad – just few final touches to go) so, Ladies and Gentlemen – let me present you. My first Warhammer 40k Blood Angels Chapter squad – Terminators. Well, to be entirely honest – I started these Terminators in July 2015. I was hoping, I’ll be able to finish them in a week or two… but something came out. Right now, I’m not sure what exactly – but if I’m remember it correctly – I was forced to postpone Terminators, because all of the sudden – I needed some Skaven for upcoming battle. Classic change of priorities:). So, few months later. Few thousands km away – I’ve decided to get back to Terminators. The squad you are looking at is …

Blood Angels Sanguinary Priest painted. Yay!

The time has finally come. Holiday break is over and now I’m back to work (not a fun part), but also I’m back to painting miniatures and writing new posts on Game of Travel blog. Three weeks in Australia – it was a nice break. The time I could regenerate and get strength for painting my entire travelling set of models (full list of what exactly I’m planning to paint during my 6 months stay in Asia is here). As you can see I have pretty ambitious plans – and if I want to make it possible, I should paint from 1 to 5 models a week. Surely, it’s manageable. Starting this week here in Kuta, Bali. And, wow, how I missed that! Over three weeks with no brush in my hand. How it’s even possible?! (well, it’s not entirely true – I was painting a little – I think, it was something about three hours… but it felt like nothing). And now, let me present you Blood Angels Sanguinary Priest for Warhammer 40000. I …

Blood Angels assemble!

The title could be misleading. I have this Blood Angels Terminator Librarian assembled already about a week ago. I won’t be writing about boxing out and gluing Blood Angels minis (at least not in this post;). You know, my Space Marines: Blood Angels Chapter is going to be assembled again. Back in the days, I think, it were late 1990s I had nice army with several Blood Angels units – few tactical squads, two terminator squads, two assault squads. Death Company of course, and few heavy, heavy tanks – I don’t remember what kind though. It’s all blurry – the memory of my beginning with Warhammer 40k is so misty. It was the time of 2nd edition – the rules were much more different than right now and Blood Angels and Dark Angels had one codex called Angels of Death. I played only few battles with my BA, I even tried 3rd edition rules ( I was one of many complaining about new rules – I could never adjust my way of thinking for all …
