Pink Moderator gal. Bakunin Nomads. Infinity The Game

…and another miniature painted. I left Bali behind me – right now I’m on Koh Chang in Thailand and my next travelling painting station’s product is Moderator Girl from Nomads Bakunin, Infinity The Game (with combi rifle and lollipop…ekh…marker). Below I give you my thoughts about the miniature and describe a bit how exactly I paint it and what paints I used. Like I mentioned the last time – I brought many girls miniatures with me to Asia. Especially my Infinity selection includes plenty of girls to paint – this exact Moderator, Reverend Custodier, Reverend Moira, Zero… quite few…Infinity offers plenty of great detailed, fragile women models to paint – these are so entirely different than the minis I used to paint most of the time – Games Workshop offers bulky, big, even huuuge models. Even Sisters of Battle or Daemonettes of Slaanesh have bigger bodies than this skinny girl… When I started to paint Infinity models, I needed to made the transition in my head – painting GW is relatively easy, even detailed minis. …

Stop in Cairns, Australia at Wicked Goblin Games Store

Hello again. This time from Bongkok. After super nice time in Kuta, Bali, we moved (me and my wife) to Singapore for just few days, and today afternoon we landed in Thailand, where we are planning to spend next three weeks. …but before I even start writing anything about Singapore or Thailand, I would like to get back to my short stay in Cairns, Australia. The trip to Cairns was one of these unexpected journeys that you are not planning at all, and all of the sudden you are there. Cairns. Well, we should be on Bali, instead there. Is not that, I was not happy being in Cairns, but that was absolutely not our intention to go here. The thing is, the Rinjani volcano has erupted just two weeks before our scheduled flight to Bali from Adelaide and all flights from Australia to Bali were cancelled, due to volcanic ash cloud throw into the air. We were offered the flight to Cairns instead, and we did not hesitate for even a moment. You know – …

Malifaux project – Doppelganger of Neverborn.

Time goes by. I spent on Bali over two weeks already – only few days and I’m going to Singapore. I’ve been working and I had leisure time as well, but what pleased me the most – I still have found some time to paint the miniatures. I should paint Space Marines. Looking at my last battle report – my Blood Angels vs Orks, where all my models where unpainted – Warhammer 40k models should be my priority. All the more, tomorrow probably I’ll have next battle of 40k and one more time unpainted army… Well, thankfully I finished my Sanguinary Priest – at least one model will look as it should be. …but I refuse to paint any Warhammer models. At least for now. I have sufficient number of miniatures prepared to paint for duration of my 6 months travel. I decided, now I concentrate on something else. I simply do not feel like painting Warhammer 40k at the moment. I prefer something else. Something like Malifaux model will be just right:). For the …

Battle Report: Warhammer 40k 2th Edition – Blood Angels vs Orks (1000 points)

Few weeks ago I’ve contacted Warburton –  blogger  from Adelaide, Australia, owner of classic40k.wordpress.com. As I had plan to visit Adelaide during my Australia holidays, I took this opportunity and we arranged a meeting to have a chat, and what was probably most exciting and important, to play the game. We were thinking about Blood Bowl, Necromunda and Warhammer 40k 2 edition. To be honest WH40k was most appealing game for me, so we decided to have a go in this one. Warhammer 40000 2nd edition was my first, so I couldn’t miss that chance to play a battle here down under. It would be experience, I never forget. We agreed that we will play 1000 points battle. Orks vs Blood Angels. I took Blood Angels side and Warburton – Orks. In my travelling boxes I have one Tactical squad, Terminators and Sanguinary Priest ready to be painted ( actually Sanguinary priest is already painted – but I painted him after this battle) at some point of my 6 months journey across Australia and Asia. …

Hello, Cousin Jim. Long time no see, Wolsung.

And another miniature finished. After quite demanding Blood Angels Sanguinary Priest, I wanted to paint something easier, just to have fun, but also not spending too much time working on the model. So, my pick for this week – Distant Relative from province – Cousin Jim for Ash & Oak faction, Wolsung Steampunk Skirmish game. I had quite a long break from Wolsung. The last miniature I painted was Mary Fearless and it was in July (photos under the link). And to be honest I thought all my plans about Wolsung will turn up rather different way than right now. I supposed to paint just 2 or 3 miniatures more to complete my 3 heroes band and play two or three games before my departure to Australia. Well, everything got complicated – I tried to juggle between too many projects at the same time and eventually I was forced to give up on something. Fate decided that Wolsung’s Ash and Oak will be one of these projects (along with Nomads for Infinity the Game and …

Visit in Adelaide, Australia – Military Hobbies Store

I had awesome time in Australia. During three weeks I’ve been in Brisbane, Sidney, Blue Mountains, Adelaide, Kangaroo Island and Cairns. It’s really amazing country – each place I’ve been to is different, but still has it’s awesome beauty and charm. I will be really miss it – I hope I’ll be back here any time soon. Well, to be honest I’ve been charmed by Australia little bit too much and for far too long. I’ve been in Brisbane and Sidney for few days and I did not open even one box with my models to paint them. And I kind of forget about my ambitious plans to expand my world map of wargaming stores. And I’m thinking about stores I’ve personally visited. So, Brisbane and Sidney – I gave up on these cities and I did not try to find any hobby place around. Like I wrote – I was engaged by other things. Mostly walking around and sightseeing… Of course, I did stumble upon official Games Workshop store in Brisbane – but these …

Blood Angels Sanguinary Priest painted. Yay!

The time has finally come. Holiday break is over and now I’m back to work (not a fun part), but also I’m back to painting miniatures and writing new posts on Game of Travel blog. Three weeks in Australia – it was a nice break. The time I could regenerate and get strength for painting my entire travelling set of models (full list of what exactly I’m planning to paint during my 6 months stay in Asia is here). As you can see I have pretty ambitious plans – and if I want to make it possible, I should paint from 1 to 5 models a week. Surely, it’s manageable. Starting this week here in Kuta, Bali. And, wow, how I missed that! Over three weeks with no brush in my hand. How it’s even possible?! (well, it’s not entirely true – I was painting a little – I think, it was something about three hours… but it felt like nothing). And now, let me present you Blood Angels Sanguinary Priest for Warhammer 40000. I …

Battle Report: Warhammer Fantasy Battle 8th Edition – Skaven vs Dwarfs (1200 points)

As I predicted, the rate of posting new entries on Game of Travel significantly dropped down. During my entire stay in Australia (over 3 weeks) already I haven’t been able to post even one entry on Game of Travel. I painted only for few hours over that time. Arriving to this nice, such different country made me forget a little about mini war gaming. I had awesome time in Brisbane, Sydney, Blue Mountains, Kangaroo Island, Adelaide and Cairns – cuddling Koala, feeding Kangaroos, snorkelling on Great Bareer Reef. All of these activities – they can make you put in the nice holiday lazy mood – that you are not feel like painting or writing… Well, right now my holidays are over. After some perturbations, I’m on the Cairns airport sitting and waiting to my flight to Perth, where I can get connection to Bali.…It was awesome time, but it has been too long – Game of Travel need to be updated here and now. No matter the holidays and no matter my laziness – time …

Game of Travel vol. 2 – starts now!

Oh, wow! I’m so exited! My Game of Travel begins once again today! At 4.45 pm I have the flight to Doha and after two stops I’ll reach final destination – Brisbane, Australia. My next journey will last until May 2016 and I’m going to visit Australia, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and later possibly Philippines, Japan and China and who knows, maybe some other countries too (no fixed plans for spring yet). I am SUPER exited! I started this blog in February 2015 during my travels across Central and North America, while I was in Costa Rica. I wanted this site to be my self-motivational tool for painting miniatures. I was thinking – if I go public with my miniatures and my future painting plans, I’ll be more focused and efficient. And, guess what? It’s working:). I paint with scheduled regularity. And right now I take four small plastic boxes full of miniatures, paints and brushes. This is the list of all models I take. I will have work for entire trip. And my blog …

My first Malifaux Game – Neverborn vs Ten Thunders

In my last post I presented the miniatures I painted for my Malifaux Neverborn band – Nephilims. Mature one and two younger. These three miniatures were planned to complete the base of my Neverborn faction. It was kind of the race against the clock for me. I bought the first Malifaux box set in August (Lilith – Mother of Monsters) and I wanted to to paint enough miniatures to play tutorial game before 21st October (my departure date). At first I thought it’s enough time to paint the minis from the box and even few more. So, I added Waldgeists and Nephilims to my painting schedule. It all seemed to be manageable and possible to combine with my other painting projects at the same time. However, as usual, everything got little messed up – I was late with everything. I had plans to play two tutorial games before my departure. First, Infinity and second – Malifaux.  Due to failure of my time table, I was forced to abandon my plans about Infinity. No way I …
